[ET Net News Agency, 12 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$184.86 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.28 billion, or 13.14% of the
market's turnover. There were 726 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.03 billion and HK$3.12
billion, or 16.59% and 12.83% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 23.24% and 28.19% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$2.42 billion and HK$1.44 billion
of short sales, accounting for 9.95% and 5.92% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 23.2% and 36.95% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$8.5, or 5.93%, to HK$151.8. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$1.5, or 1.58%, to
HK$96.7. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.42, or 1.57% to HK$27.14. BIDU-SW jumped HK$9.1, or 8.54%,
to HK$115.6.
