[ET Net News Agency, 16 September 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$294.07 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$31.89 billion, or 10.84% of the
market's turnover. There were 764 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.21 billion and HK$3.18
billion, or 10.06% and 9.97% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 18.7% and 15.01% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$1.72 billion and HK$1.07 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.4% and 3.36% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 19.98% and 46.3% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$1.1, or 0.71%, to HK$153.5. TRACKER FUND ended down HK$0.02, or
0.07%, to HK$27.06. TENCENT rose HK$1.5, or 0.23% to HK$645. BIDU-SW jumped HK$0.9, or
0.8%, to HK$113.2.
