[ET Net News Agency, 17 September 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$360.28 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$40.35 billion, or 11.2% of the
market's turnover. There were 751 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.74 billion and HK$2.98
billion, or 11.74% and 7.38% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 18.86% and 36.1% of respective stock's turnover.
BIDU-SW (09888) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$2.63 billion and HK$2.5 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.52% and 6.19% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 29.55% and 17.01% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$8.1, or 5.28%, to HK$161.6. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.255, or
4.28%, to HK$6.215. BIDU-SW rose HK$17.8, or 15.72% to HK$131. TENCENT jumped HK$16.5, or
2.56%, to HK$661.5.
