[ET Net News Agency, 15 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$108.8
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$15.91 billion, or 14.63% of the market's
turnover. There were 671 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.25 billion and HK$1.21 billion, or 14.14%
and 7.6% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 35.38%
and 18.13% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$960.24 million and HK$646.03
million of short sales, accounting for 6.04% and 4.06% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 19.27% and 31.02% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.12, or 0.15%, to HK$81.62. BABA-W ended up HK$1.4, or 1.29%, to
HK$109.6. TENCENT rose HK$0.6, or 0.13% to HK$454.6. BYD COMPANY declined by HK$2.2, or
0.59%, to HK$373.8.
