[ET Net News Agency, 16 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$118.12
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.1 billion, or 13.63% of the market's
turnover. There were 671 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.4 billion and HK$1.34 billion, or 14.91%
and 8.35% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 42.74%
and 18.16% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and BYD COMPANY (01211) registered HK$822.96 million and HK$754.95
million of short sales, accounting for 5.11% and 4.69% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 33.89% and 39.75% of respective stock's
turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed down HK$0.234, or 4.78%, to HK$4.664. BABA-W ended down HK$5.5, or
5%, to HK$104.4. HSCEI ETF fell HK$2.48, or 3.04% to HK$79.22. BYD COMPANY declined by
HK$14.8, or 3.94%, to HK$360.6.
