[ET Net News Agency, 5 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$124.63 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$13.47 billion, or 10.8% of the
market's turnover. There were 700 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TENCENT (00700)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.47 billion and HK$661.86 million, or
10.91% and 4.92% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
23.06% and 18.75% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$506.3 million and HK$429.46
million of short sales, accounting for 3.76% and 3.19% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.66% and 19.41% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$0.1, or 0.08%, to HK$129.9. TENCENT ended up HK$8.5, or 1.43%, to
HK$601. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.16, or 0.62% to HK$25.78. XIAOMI-W declined by HK$0.1, or
0.19%, to HK$53.35.
