[ET Net News Agency, 8 September 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$286.04 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$38.17 billion, or 13.34% of the
market's turnover. There were 748 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.74 billion and HK$2.77
billion, or 9.79% and 7.25% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 18.61% and 30.35% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$2.19 billion and HK$2.03 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.74% and 5.32% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 16.38% and 32.88% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$5.5, or 4.17%, to HK$137.3. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.22, or 0.85%,
to HK$26.2. TENCENT rose HK$12, or 1.98% to HK$617.5. BIDU-SW jumped HK$9.2, or 9.48%, to
HK$106.2.
