[ET Net News Agency, 9 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$159.68 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.7 billion, or 13.59% of the
market's turnover. There were 716 short-selling stocks. CSOP HS TECH (03033) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.42 billion and HK$2.17
billion, or 11.14% and 10.02% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 65.66% and 17.17% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.23 billion and HK$914.63
million of short sales, accounting for 5.67% and 4.22% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 25.19% and 15.11% of respective stock's
turnover.
CSOP HS TECH closed up HK$0.065, or 1.15%, to HK$5.705. BABA-W ended up HK$3.7, or
2.69%, to HK$141. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.24, or 0.92% to HK$26.44. TENCENT jumped HK$6, or
0.97%, to HK$623.5.
