[ET Net News Agency, 12 September 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$320.73 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$44.2 billion, or 13.78% of the
market's turnover. There were 754 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$5.6 billion and HK$4.87
billion, or 12.68% and 11.02% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 21.6% and 29.45% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$4.05 billion and HK$2.72 billion
of short sales, accounting for 9.16% and 6.16% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 22.23% and 20.3% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$7.8, or 5.44%, to HK$151.1. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.88, or 0.92%, to
HK$96.08. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.28, or 1.05% to HK$27. TENCENT jumped HK$14, or 2.22%, to
HK$643.5.
