HK$288.77 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$44.24 billion, or 15.32% of the
market's turnover. There were 765 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$10.66 billion and HK$3.63
billion, or 24.09% and 8.2% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 24.18% and 37.77% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$2.23 billion and HK$1.52 billion of
short sales, accounting for 5.05% and 3.43% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 18.85% and 38.72% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$14.6, or 9.16%, to HK$174. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.38, or 1.42%,
to HK$27.18. TENCENT rose HK$13, or 2.05% to HK$648.5. BIDU-SW jumped HK$0.2, or 0.16%, to
HK$128.6.
