[ET Net News Agency, 25 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$175.76 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$24.21 billion, or 13.78% of the
market's turnover. There were 726 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and TRACKER FUND
(02800) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.02 billion and HK$2.15
billion, or 16.61% and 8.88% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 22.19% and 22.03% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$1.22 billion and HK$934.27 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.04% and 3.86% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 21.31% and 11.71% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$0.8, or 0.46%, to HK$174.8. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.08, or 0.29%,
to HK$27.26. TENCENT rose HK$9.5, or 1.46% to HK$658. XIAOMI-W jumped HK$2.05, or 3.6%, to
HK$58.95.
