[ET Net News Agency, 4 March 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$156.9
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$26.74 billion, or 17.04% of the market's
turnover. There were 687 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$6.52 billion and HK$2.79 billion, or 24.39%
and 10.45% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
54.13% and 26.79% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.89 billion and HK$1.72 billion
of short sales, accounting for 7.08% and 6.44% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 16.51% and 37.91% of respective stock's
turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed down HK$24, or 6.6%, to HK$339.6. BABA-W ended down HK$2.5, or 1.92%,
to HK$127.9. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.25, or 0.49% to HK$50.7. CSOP HS TECH declined by
HK$0.005, or 0.09%, to HK$5.4.
