[ET Net News Agency, 4 March 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$269.53
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$46.13 billion, or 17.11% of the market's
turnover. There were 719 short-selling stocks. BYD COMPANY (01211) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$9 billion and HK$4.29 billion, or 19.5% and
9.3% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 51.92% and
25.23% of respective stock's turnover.
XIAOMI-W (01810) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$3.15 billion and HK$2.53 billion of
short sales, accounting for 6.84% and 5.49% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 18.6% and 16.74% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY closed down HK$24.6, or 6.77%, to HK$339. BABA-W ended down HK$2.6, or
1.99%, to HK$127.8. XIAOMI-W fell HK$0.4, or 0.79% to HK$50.55. TENCENT jumped HK$7.8, or
1.61%, to HK$491.
