[ET Net News Agency, 11 April 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$127.9
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.11 billion, or 14.94% of the market's
turnover. There were 701 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.53 billion and HK$1.44 billion, or 13.22%
and 7.55% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 31.09%
and 59.27% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and SMIC (00981) registered HK$1.08 billion and HK$860.69 million of
short sales, accounting for 5.63% and 4.5% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 10.89% and 12.6% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$0.9, or 0.86%, to HK$103.9. CSOP HS TECH ended up HK$0.062, or
1.31%, to HK$4.802. TENCENT fell HK$5.2, or 1.17% to HK$439.6. SMIC jumped HK$4, or 9.07%,
to HK$48.1.
