billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$28.82 billion, or 14.15% of the market's
turnover. There were 696 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.97 billion and HK$1.81 billion, or 6.84%
and 6.28% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 17.04%
and 26.84% of respective stock's turnover.
BYD COMPANY (01211) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$1.4 billion and HK$1.21 billion of
short sales, accounting for 4.87% and 4.2% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 20.42% and 16.46% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.34, or 1.45%, to HK$23.82. BABA-W ended up HK$0.7, or 0.62%,
to HK$113.9. BYD COMPANY rose HK$15.2, or 3.94% to HK$400.6. TENCENT jumped HK$6.6, or
1.32%, to HK$505.
