[ET Net News Agency, 6 August 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$120.64
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$17.49 billion, or 14.5% of the market's
turnover. There were 676 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and TRACKER FUND (02800)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.23 billion and HK$1.19 billion, or
7.01% and 6.79% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
19.36% and 17.08% of respective stock's turnover.
BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH (03033) registered HK$1.08 billion and HK$1.05 billion
of short sales, accounting for 6.16% and 6.03% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 21.76% and 30.54% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$10, or 1.79%, to HK$569. TRACKER FUND ended up HK$0.08, or 0.32%,
to HK$25.44. BABA-W rose HK$2.4, or 2.07% to HK$118.4. CSOP HS TECH jumped HK$0.005, or
0.09%, to HK$5.425.
