[ET Net News Agency, 6 August 2025] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$215.24
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$32.18 billion, or 14.95% of the market's
turnover. There were 723 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and BABA-W (09988) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.28 billion and HK$1.86 billion, or 7.1%
and 5.76% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 19.43%
and 21.48% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and TRACKER FUND (02800) registered HK$1.78 billion and HK$1.67
billion of short sales, accounting for 5.53% and 5.18% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 32.58% and 17.48% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed up HK$9.5, or 1.7%, to HK$568.5. BABA-W ended up HK$0.7, or 0.6%, to
HK$116.7. MEITUAN-W fell HK$1.8, or 1.46% to HK$121.1. TRACKER FUND jumped HK$0.06, or
0.24%, to HK$25.42.
