[ET Net News Agency, 4 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$169.25 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$19.77 billion, or 11.68% of the
market's turnover. There were 721 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CSOP HS TECH
(03033) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.9 billion and HK$1.77
billion, or 9.62% and 8.93% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions
represented 16.45% and 40.01% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and TENCENT (00700) registered HK$814.2 million and HK$599.93
million of short sales, accounting for 4.12% and 3.04% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 8.87% and 11.94% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed down HK$5, or 3.73%, to HK$129.1. CSOP HS TECH ended down HK$0.09, or
1.61%, to HK$5.485. TRACKER FUND fell HK$0.28, or 1.08% to HK$25.62. TENCENT declined by
HK$5, or 0.84%, to HK$593.5.
