[ET Net News Agency, 11 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$176.34 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.85 billion, or 11.82% of the
market's turnover. There were 704 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and CPIC (02601)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$3.37 billion and HK$1.1 billion, or
16.16% and 5.28% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
28.97% and 57.95% of respective stock's turnover.
HSCEI ETF (02828) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$956.11 million and HK$817.76
million of short sales, accounting for 4.59% and 3.92% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 26.75% and 13.27% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$1.1, or 0.77%, to HK$143.9. CPIC ended up HK$1.04, or 3.23%, to
HK$33.24. HSCEI ETF fell HK$0.34, or 0.36% to HK$95.38. MEITUAN-W declined by HK$3.75, or
3.69%, to HK$97.95.
