[ET Net News Agency, 16 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$160.18 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.96 billion, or 10.59% of the
market's turnover. There were 735 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and BABA-W
(09988) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.25 billion and HK$1.99
billion, or 13.27% and 11.76% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 23.66% and 18.53% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$817.39 million and HK$507.84 million
of short sales, accounting for 4.82% and 2.99% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 19.9% and 44.39% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.04, or 0.15%, to HK$27.12. BABA-W ended down HK$0.5, or
0.32%, to HK$154.1. TENCENT rose HK$2.5, or 0.39% to HK$646. BIDU-SW jumped HK$1.5, or
1.34%, to HK$113.8.
