[ET Net News Agency, 17 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$192.36 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.61 billion, or 9.67% of the
market's turnover. There were 723 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and BIDU-SW (09888)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.71 billion and HK$1.28 billion, or
14.57% and 6.9% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
17.74% and 29.66% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and XI2CSOPHSTECH (07552) registered HK$1.14 billion and HK$897.99
million of short sales, accounting for 6.15% and 4.83% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 15.29% and 74.35% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$7.7, or 5.02%, to HK$161.2. BIDU-SW ended up HK$18, or 15.9%, to
HK$131.2. TENCENT rose HK$14, or 2.17% to HK$659. XI2CSOPHSTECH declined by HK$0.09, or
7.1%, to HK$1.178.
