[ET Net News Agency, 19 September 2025] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was
HK$179.03 billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$21.36 billion, or 11.93% of the
market's turnover. There were 730 short-selling stocks. BABA-W (09988) and HSCEI ETF
(02828) saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.45 billion and HK$2.18
billion, or 11.45% and 10.19% of the total short sales value respectively. The
transactions represented 21.48% and 26.84% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND (02800) and BIDU-SW (09888) registered HK$2.16 billion and HK$1.56 billion
of short sales, accounting for 10.13% and 7.28% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 26.21% and 55.46% of respective stock's
turnover.
BABA-W closed up HK$2.3, or 1.45%, to HK$160.7. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.36, or 0.37%, to
HK$96.94. TRACKER FUND rose HK$0.04, or 0.15% to HK$27.22. BIDU-SW jumped HK$0.3, or
0.23%, to HK$133.1.
